PSP games pulled from PS Store to stem Vita piracy fears

Sony has pulled two PSP games from the PlayStation Network, following concerns that they can be used in PlayStation Vita exploits.

The games are Everybody's Golf and MotorStorm Arctic Rift, both of which allow hackers to run unsigned code on the Vita in "PSP mode". In turn this would allow the running of a homebrew application

Sony has been quick to remove PSP games that allow such an exploit, as hackers seem increasingly driven to find ways to hack the new PlayStation Vita handheld.

You know what, I thought it was the coolest when we were all exploiting the PSP and finding new things to do with it. A console which is two months old, and not doing the best though, makes me a little sick. People are so driven to do whatever they want behind their computers, simply because they think they can. A little homebrew is nothing, but once it gets properly exploited the console is screwed and we end up with nothing.

Well yeah, most hackers just want to buy the latest and greatest just to see if they can crack it open and run some code.

No ship is unsinkable. I hear of plenty of people who say "I don't want a Vita till it's 'cracked'". Not supporting a system through software sales will kill it off fairly fast.
