Vodafone Australia will be the preferred provider of 3G connectivity for PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) in Australia, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia announced today.

"With social gaming and connectivity at the heart of PlayStation Vita it is important that we partner with a market leading network provider, to ensure users have a high quality 3G experience.” said Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. “Partnering with Vodafone will enable PS Vita users in the selected countries to always be connected with their PlayStation life, friends and games, wherever they are.”

The PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model, both now available for pre-order, will come with a Vodafone SIM card and can be bought from Vodafone channels, both online and in store.

Purchasing a Vodafone-connected 3G Vita will also score you a PlayStationNetwork voucher for WipEout 2048, which will be available to download from PlayStationStore.

Vodafone Australia preferred 3G provider for PS Vita Comments

I LOVE VODAFONE [monkey]

Problem?
Is this a joke
"high quality 3G" and "always be connected" are not two phrases that should ever be associated with vodafail
LOL.
GOOD LUCK GETTING RECEPTION.

Didn't Sony know of the class action lawsuit against Vodaphone's internet coverage? Misleading and deceptive conduct. [Facepalm] [Facepalm]

Vodafone should concerntrate on there own service, they are useless
they should have gone with telstra... :S
Isn't Vodafone upgrading its network soon anyways?
OMG really [Rage], this puts me off buying one.
I have been with Vodafone for a while and even with the upgrades they are still the worst 3G provider.
Thankyou Sony! You have just helped me make my decision on whether to go with the Wi-Fi or 3G model, the moment I heard Vodaphone and good service I knew that Wi-Fi would be the best choice.

Vodaphone have the worst 3G service ever, the amount of drop-outs I had when I had it, and slow net speed is absolutely rediculous.

You wouldn't go with 3G anyway. Just tether from your smartphone.
lol vodafone

Yes they are upgrading as you speak :P I used to work for the mob doing the upgrades and its being done now. But still its going to be crap.

Vodaphone is still way behind on Telstra, they just like to say and think they can compare.
My cousin has a few 3/Vodafone shops around so I am unfortunately obliged to use him.

He keeps talking up the new 4G network, and I keep laughing at him whenever he turns his back.
Well there's your problem.

Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

doesn't even live in australia [Facepalm]

They probably just cheaped out X_X
Yeah, I thought the same thing reading the press release.

Vodafone is also taking care of Europe. Same company, really.
Oh well their loss if they lose money over the 3G version :P
epic lulz

Just needed any excuse right? It's not like you can't use any other provider or is it the end of the world to forgo the 3g model in favour of hitting up your wifi connections.

Still its good to see Sony providing incentive for those who want to take advantage of 3g speeds even though I probably won't bother with it as I don't find 3g all that reliable. Proper 4G speeds can't come soon enough!
i just got rid out of my vodaphone contract so i am staying a away from g3 vita. the chick at their call centre couldnt even find marysville victoria on google maps
Why not just get a different SIM? -_-
why not spoil my fun hhmmmmm? thought so fun spoiler
Jeez, vodafone has the worst 3g Network of all existence. I don't know anyone who is still with vodafone after continual frustration with their 3g. Our company stopped using them too.
I honestly thought Voda were shutting down =\

I believe it's wireless, no sim?

I guess it's locked to Vidafone.

Article implies otherwise:

Article says:...will come with a Vodafone SIM card and can be bought from Vodafone channels, both online and in store.

Is this suppose to be a joke, they say they want to partner with a market leader and go with vodafone, are they dickheads
